My Dearest Family,
Well it has been some kinda week. It has been busy and I am wiped. I am toast. Wednesday through Sunday night Elder Steed and I studied the new curriculum as we would be teaching it Monday and Tuesday with President to the Zone Leaders and Trainers. When I say Wednesday - Sunday I mean all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We did individual study of it, companion study and even studied with President Maynes. What a treat!! I tell you it sure is impressive to watch President Maynes teach because he says so few words. He just opens the scriptures and teaches the doctrine and then poses questions in such a way you just end up teaching yourself. There has been a few times that I have made a suggestion or a comment and in the most loving way he just reproved the heck out of my idea. I love it! It is fun to learn from him. So we studied and studied and then watched the new training videos, Preach My Gospel 'The District...2" (this time its not 'The District 1") and studied some more. Once we had all of our lesson plans together we role played and decided with President which lessons individually we would teach. Monday and Tuesday we trained all day, all day. I attached a copy of the agenda for the Leadership Training so you could get an idea of it. The Leadership Training went fantastic. President taught 2 of the lessons in their entirety, Elder Steed and I taught 2 together, Elder Steed and President taught 2 together, and then President and I taught 2 together. It was a lot of fun and the missionaries are such high caliber Elders and Sisters that they really caught the vision and were excited to take it out and apply it.
We had the opportunity to attend the temple this morning bright and early and it was awesome to be back there again. I sure was tired but I loved the spirit that was there and it definitely was a great finisher to the week of education. I was able to find a lot of peace and direction on Rochelle's situation. Her dad is not for it at all. In fact he is very against it. It was a hard visit Saturday when we dropped by to invite them to church. He told us that he was done with us visiting. He really just wants what is best for his daughter but unfortunately he doesn't ever listen to what is best. It is really hard/impossible for us to make contact with her because he has asked us to let her contact us and not to call her, which we can respect and follow but who know what she is being told. The good news is that we had the blessing of having a member to the lesson last week so Sister Bullock can make contact. I sure have been fasting and praying a lot for Rochelle and Mike, I know that the Lord will take care of it. That was the answer I received today, that it is in the Lord's hands.
After the Temple today Elder Steed and I traveled by train downtown and watched most of the Rockies game. It was hot, but a lot of fun. I have loved the chance to go and enjoy downtown and a little sporting event every once in a while. We probably didn't look like the most enthusiastic fans as we both slept through the 4th inning. We are pooped. It has been the hardest month of my mission, I have never been so exhausted, especially not all the time. What doesn't make sense is that I am happy. I must be crazy. I never get enough sleep, I wear a suit coat in 95 degree weather and every day at least one person lets me know how many days I have left. I have never been so tired and I have never been so happy. I sure love my mission. I love serving with President Maynes and working in the office. When a missionary has been out for 8 or 9 months, that is when you start to feel like you have been a missionary your whole life. Any time you are telling a story from home, you stop and think "What was I doing alone with that girl???? O wait, I wasn't a missionary." Well now after 9 months in the office I feel like this is all I have ever done my whole mission. I absolutely love getting to work with so many missionaries and the chance I have to learn from them, and to see a little bit more how the church runs, and to realize that you can find happiness even if you are busy doing different not regular missionary things.
Well I should probably get going. We are helping all the Zone Leaders train this new curriculum to their missionaries over the next 3 weeks. We will probably teach most of the districts in the metro side and might head west for one last hurrah. Who has time to be trunky?
I Love you all!
