My Family Dear,
Yet another week has flown by here in the Colorado Denver South Mission. Wednesday through Saturday Elder Steed and I continued to attend the 'Simplified Curriculum' trainings, taught by the zone leaders and were able to help President with a lot of things in preparation for Transfer Board-ing. Saturday President decided that he wanted to get an early start to the transfer board so we did so. It is a really big transfer, receiving 3 visa Spanish missionaries, 3 Spanish at transfer, 5 English and one sister makes it a transfer of impact. With the new scheduling that came from Salt Lake and new training meetings it also changes what kind of missionary is needed for leadership positions, namely district leaders and trainers. It is pretty intense and I know that most of you don't want me to come home and blab for hours about our mission and mission organization and how crazy the changes have been and how the church missionary program is changed from a C+ to a A- since I have been on my mission, but this is all I have done for 9 months!!! Forgive me, I know you want some amazing story about tracting or 'not eating' or a crazy bank robbery or lighting a field on fire or something really good, I am sure I have a couple but I will bore you with hours of office stories and senior couple jokes and baptismal statistics, or which missionaries I think will be zone leaders by march of 2011.
OK well We started transfer board Saturday and President Maynes let Elder Steed and I know which missionary would be filling my spot here in the office. He is a great missionary, know throughout the whole mission as the hardest working candy in town "two jobs man". (Does anyone remember that commercial) Sorry I meant the hardest working missionary. Elder Warren is great, even if he isn't from Canada (joking). Elder Steed and he will enjoy the couple of transfers they will have to serve together in the office. I am very excited to hear about the successes that will come as a result of the Lords blessing and their great leadership.
By Sunday night President had most of the leadership assignments placed on the transfer board. It was a great head start and with the trainings on Monday and Tuesday, Visa missionary arrivals on Wednesday and a trip to Frisco on Thursday it put us in a good place. Monday we attended a District Meeting in the Arapahoe Zone where Elders Rasmussen and Rambo taught the 3rd lesson. Monday night Trista Kogan (Maplewood ward) took us and the Maplewood Elders out to Buffalo Wild Wings (At my Request) it was fantastic, but more fun to get to catch up with Trista and all that is happening in that ward. She is still just amazing at serving others and always living as an example. Also earlier in the week Trista and Jillian Schulz(Elder Willis and I taught her in Maplewood) dropped some baked goodies at the office for Elder Steed and I and short of Jillian drooling over my companion, it was a good visit. She is attending BYU this fall. I can't take Elder Steed anywhere. The girls just flock in his direction, I have taken to carrying a baseball bat, or a Law of Chastity Pamphlet.
Well Tuesday we attended a District Meeting in Greenwood Village (my old district) and Elder Warren and Elder Call were the zone leaders there and taught the 4th lesson very well. We then grabbed Elder Warren's luggage and tossed it in the truck and he has been working with us and learning the ropes the last couple days.
Well I want to tell a story so here is Wed and Thur in point form.

Well
on Monday among all that we had Elder Steed and I decided to go and
visit Marva, a lady that we tracted into the week previous. We dropped
by, knocked and she came to the door. I asked how she was and she said,
'Kind of sad'. So we inquired to what cause we could attribute her
sadness. She really opened up to us and shared a lot of her challenges
and how God has helped her throughout her whole life. She finished her
story by telling us that she had been praying and praying for help and
then we showed up. This new MTC curriculum has really challenged me as a
teacher to get out of old habits and apply the great new teachings.
Elder Steed and I had prepared intensely during study that morning and
then did our best, imperfect, rusty attempt to apply the new teaching
principles. It was amazing. We were able to direct the conversation in a
way that she bore her testimony to us, we invited her to read and pray
about the Book of Mormon so she would know that this is Christ's church.
It was fantastic!
I hope that she really reads and prays because if she does it sincerely she will get an answer.
Well I love my mission. With this new focus on teaching I feel like I was so useless the last two years. I mean, I just wish that I could have just another 6 months to really learn and practice and apply these things. Well I love it non the less and we have seen huge success throughout the mission the last 3 weeks and I will look forward to hearing about all that happens not only in our mission but throughout the church with all of this.
I love you all.
Elder Forsyth
